Senior HR Manager (Mining)

Dakar, Senegal

 Location : Sénégal.

Mine Site / Head Office (with frequent travel to site)

Reporting Line :

General Manager / Operations Director


Main Missions :

The Senior HR Manager is responsible for defining, implementing, and monitoring the HR strategy adapted to the mining sector. He/She manages human capital, talent development, regulatory compliance, and relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to support the overall performance of the company.

Keys responsibilities:

1. HR Strategy and Governance

•Define and drive the HR policy in line with the company’s strategic objectives.

•Ensure compliance with labor laws, collective agreements, and both local and international mining regulations.

•Develop and monitor HR KPIs to assess the performance and effectiveness of HR practices.

2. Talent Management and Development

•Implement recruitment, internal mobility, and succession planning adapted to operational needs.

•Oversee training and skills development, particularly in mining-related areas (safety, technical expertise, leadership).

•Identify and support high-potential employees to ensure strong leadership succession.

3. Industrial Relations and Work Climate

•Negotiate and manage relationships with unions and employee representatives.

•Promote a constructive and positive social climate.

•Implement employee engagement and well-being programs.


4.HR Administration and Personnel Management

•Supervise payroll, employment contracts, expatriate management, and internationalmobility.

•Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations (health, safety,environment, taxation).

•Manage competitive compensation and benefits policies.

5.Health, Safety, and Corporate Social Responsibility

•Work closely with HSE departments to promote employee health and safety.

•Integrate CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) principles and local developmentinitiatives into HR practices.

•Develop recruitment and training programs to enhance local employability.

Profile Required:

•Master’s degree in human resources, Law, Management, or equivalent.

•Minimum 10 years of HR management experience, including at least 5 years in themining, industrial, or oil & gas sector.

•Strong knowledge of local and international labor laws.

•Proven experience in managing multicultural teams and working in expatriate contexts.

•Strong negotiation and communication skills.

•Leadership, adaptability, and strategic thinking.

•Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
